We Believe

Evangelical Doctrine - We maintain the belief that the basis of the gospel consists of the doctrine of salvation by grace through faith in the atonement of Jesus Christ. We believe in the centrality of the conversion or the born again experience in receiving salvation, in the authority of the Bible as God's revelation to humanity, and in spreading the Christian message.

God - We believe in One God who exists in three distinct persons: Father, Son and Holy Spirit. We believe that our Creator God created everything out of nothing (ex nihilo) and has revealed his character and nature for mankind to men and women throughout generations. God sent His Son, begotten of the Heavenly Father, born of a virgin, as the savior of the world. We believe that Jesus Christ is fully God and fully man. We believe in the full power, presence, and deity of the Holy Spirit.

Sin - We believe that all mankind is born into sinful nature that separates them from God, but that He has provided a way for salvation. It is through His Son Jesus Christ, the full propitiation for our sin. All mankind needs salvation through Jesus Christ. Bad things happen in our decaying world. God is not the author of evil. Satan opposes God but is not God's opposite.

Bible - The Old and New Testaments are inspired by God to human authors, is without error (infallible), and the Holy Bible is the ultimate authority on which we base our faith, conduct, theology, and doctrine. The Bible is God's instruction for us to show us the way to life, and the way to do life. We believe in the Protestant Canon of Scripture as established by a variety of counsels and constitutes the modern Biblical canon and text - The Old Testament and the New Testament in credible and solid translations like the ESV, NASB, NKJV, NLT, AMP, and for a fresh look for readability, the Message translation.

Salvation - We are saved by grace through faith, and justified by faith alone. Salvation is received by believing and confessing; believing in Jesus Christ as the Son of God, as fully deity and fully man, the sinless and only perfect atonement for our sins, that he died on the cross for all mankind, taking our sin on Himself and redeeming us from the wages of sin, and that we confess that Jesus Christ is who He says He is.

Justification by Faith vs Good Works -  We are justified with God through faith, not through good works. We are saved to do good works, we are not saved by good works. We are saved by grace alone.

God the Father - God is creator of all things, ex nihilo (out of nothing). He is the beginning and the end, the author and finisher of our faith. God is good. God is love. God is sovereign. He is above all and all in all.

God the Son - We believe that Jesus Christ is the Son of God and Savior of the world; we believe in the deity of our Lord Jesus Christ, His virgin birth, His sinless life, His miracles, His death on the cross atoning for all our sins through His shed blood, His miraculous bodily ressurection, His ascension to the right hand of the Father, and in His eventual return (the Second Coming).

God the Holy Spirit - The Holy Spirit is the Spirit of the Living God who dwells in the hearts of those who are saved, ministering to us on individual basis as well as equipping us for the work of building the church and the kingdom of God. Spiritual Gifts are for today, but must be managed in order and protocol. God communicates to His people through the Holy Spirit, leading us toward Christ centered lives of Godliness.

Hell - The Bible describes Hell as a real place for those who do not believe in Jesus Christ. There is one way to God the Father. Hell was not created for man, but for the rebellious Fallen angels, and God doesn't send people to hell, but if someone refuses Christ as Savior, Messiah, and as full deity and fully man, they are not saved. Not everyone goes to heaven. But it is the forgiven and those who are in relationship with Jesus Christ by grace through faith.

Eternity - We are the bride of Christ. There will be no marriage to anyone except to Christ. There are no husbands and wives; we will remember each other as we were on earth, but we will return to our perfect state, redeemed by Christ body, soul, and spirit.
